I’ve always been someone that prides himself in knowing a little about a lot. I have spent my entire life reading non-fiction 99% of the time. I never saw the use in reading fiction other than enriching your vocabulary. Non-fiction does just as well in that category without and you learn about life events past or present.
Too many times I have sat with people and could not engage with them because they never bothered with diversity in knowledge. The only subjects they knew were fights and discussing their sexual exploits the weekend before. Man oh man that’s great conversation pieces…
As I said of late I feel the need to educate the mainstream population: by this I mean the people that have apartments, mostly in senior buildings that sit in the social room and judge the homeless and believe we are all low-lives that never wanted to do anything. Or that on ODSP, I should be able to afford rent and food and heat and lights. Because 20 years ago they were able to. Yeah 20 years ago rent was 450 for a 1 bedroom… now same place 1,500$+.
The reason why they think we are all drug addicts is because when you land on the streets you become suicidal and you try and forget. And you do that by doing drugs.
And those are what I’d like to call the chapters of the 18 and out union. They are the parents that are so proud of having booted their kids out as soon they were past 18.
Too bad they are now homeless because of you!
